Welcome to the AGSU homepage!
This will be the place to come and check for news on AGSU and Department events, funny photos of past events, and useful resources for being a graduate student here in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Toronto. The AGSU represents a very broad range of students, encompassing all of the many fields of anthropology - socio-cultural, linguistics, medical, archaeology, and biological anthropology. Despite our diversity, we are joined together by our common quest towards an understanding of humankind, but also by our fondness for the GSU Pub!
News ~March 20, 2009~ Call for Papers!
Vis-à-vis: Explorations in Anthropology We are currently soliciting submissions for the next edition of the journal
through *May 15, 2009*.
The Anthropology Graduate Student Union (AGSU) at the University of Toronto
is relaunching vis-à-vis: Explorations in Anthropology, an online,
peer-reviewed, student-produced journal. Our goal is to provide a space in
which graduate students from across Canada can present innovative research
and gain publishing experience. You can learn more about vis-à-vis and see
our submission criteria by visiting our website:

Submissions for the Fall 2009 edition are currently being solicited. We
welcome submissions from graduate students in any anthropology
sub-discipline or related field, from any Canadian university. The deadline for submission is May 15, 2009. Submissions are accepted through the online submission system only.

2. Register an account (and be sure to check the "Author" checkbox in the
"Register As" section).
3. If you already have an account, please see:

We also encourage all submitters to register as peer-reviewers for the
journal by clicking the "Reviewer" checkbox and indicating areas of
expertise.

graduate student journal, vis-à-vis: Explorations in Anthropology. Volume
8, No. 1 includes articles by present and former students, Alison Kooistra,
Monir Moniruzzaman, and Zoe Wool. Please check out the issue, online!
